Gargash: UAE stance firm on zero tolerance for extremism - Sarmad

Anwar Gargash, the UAE President’s Diplomatic Advisor, emphasized the importance of the UAE’s early and firm stance that “there is no tolerance for extremism and no compromise with its rhetoric.”

Speaking on his official X account on Saturday, Gargash said: “The region’s struggle against extremism is ongoing, and justifying terrorism through hate speech is part of the threat, not its periphery. The recent terrorist incident serves as a new warning that the confrontation has not ended,” in reference to the Flydubai flight incident.

He added: “This underscores the importance of the UAE’s early and firm stance: no tolerance for extremism and no compromise with its rhetoric. Security begins with confronting hate and draining the sources of extremism.”

Earlier, on Friday, Gargash stated that the Indian pilot of Flydubai, Smit Machhar, deserves “all respect,” for demonstrating courage and responsibility while confronting what he described as a “serious terrorist act” and a potential disaster.
