Turkish National Security Council Accuses Israel of Violating Syrian Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity - Sarmad

The Turkish National Security Council accused Israel of violating Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and of obstructing efforts to achieve stability in the region, calling on the international community to take “concrete steps” against it.
The Council’s stance came in a statement issued following its meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.
The Council described the developments in Syria, which were discussed in its deliberations, as “positive developments” in the process of strengthening the country’s unity and territorial integrity, extending state authority over all Syrian territory, and advancing the integration process. It reaffirmed Turkey’s continued support for the Syrian people in their efforts to rebuild the country and to strengthen its relations with the international community.
The Council strongly criticized Israel in light of its ongoing attacks in the region, pointing out that Tel Aviv has failed to fulfill its commitments related to establishing peace in Gaza and Lebanon. It called on the international community to take concrete steps against Israel, noting that its violations of Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty are undermining efforts to achieve regional stability.
The Turkish National Security Council’s position was not far from previous repeated Turkish stances that have emphasized support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as condemnation of daily Israeli attacks and incursions into Syrian territory.
