Saudi Arabia: Professional Master's degree required for teacher appointments - Sarmad

Saudi Arabia’s National Institute for Educational Professional Development launched the Professional Master’s in Teaching program on Thursday, aiming to prepare candidates to practice the teaching profession. Obtaining the degree is a prerequisite for the hiring of new male and female teachers.
The program does not include teachers already employed in the field. Admission requires passing the specialized professional licensing exam, while the educational exam is a graduation requirement. Additionally, candidates must complete the program with a minimum grade point average of 3.75 out of 5 to enter the teaching profession.
The program is offered free of charge through in-person instruction, lasts one academic year, and provides students with a monthly stipend of 3,000 Saudi riyals during the study period.
The program is offered at six Saudi universities: King Saud University, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, King Khalid University, King Abdulaziz University, Tabuk University, and Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University.
Targeted specializations include Social and National Education, Mathematics, Biology, Science, Physics, Islamic Education, English, Chemistry, Arabic, and Computer Science.
