Major Al-Wahib Discusses Management of 'Reformative Institutions' and Prisoner Rehabilitation with Italian Side - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Kuwait’s Undersecretary of State for Interior Affairs, Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahayb, held talks today, Wednesday, with an Italian security official to explore ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the management of correctional institutions and the rehabilitation of inmates.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said in a statement that Major General Al-Wahayb met with the head of Italy’s Prison Administration, Judge Stefano Di Michele, who led an official delegation, along with several other officials, in the presence of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy, Nasser Al-Qahtani.
During a visit to Rebibbia Prison in Rome, the capital, the Undersecretary reviewed operational mechanisms, organizational and security procedures, prominent modern systems and technologies, and the programs and practices adopted for inmate rehabilitation and reform, as well as measures to improve the efficiency of the operational system.
The Undersecretary and his accompanying delegation conducted a field tour inside the prison, during which they examined programs for inmate rehabilitation and social reintegration, operational management mechanisms within the facility, and the role of modern technologies in supporting the operational system and enhancing readiness levels.
According to the statement, the meeting was part of the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with relevant Italian authorities, and benefiting from modern practices in inmate rehabilitation and reform, thereby contributing to the development of the operational system, improving staff efficiency, and enhancing institutional capacities.
The Undersecretary of State for Interior Affairs and his delegation arrived in Rome, the Italian capital, yesterday evening on an official visit as part of a program aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in several areas of security work.
