Electricity Ministry begins routine maintenance of power grids... starting tomorrow - Sarmad

Fatima Abbas Jauhar Hayat, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, announced that the ministry will begin routine maintenance work on electrical networks starting tomorrow, October 1, 2026. The maintenance covers components of transmission and distribution networks, including main substations, overhead lines, underground cables, and secondary substations. This initiative is part of the ministry’s annual plan aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the power system, strengthening its readiness for the summer season, and minimizing emergency outages to the lowest possible level.

She clarified that some of these works may result in temporary power outages in parts of specific areas, according to schedules that will be announced through the ministry’s official social media accounts. The work will be carried out under an organized program designed to ensure swift completion of tasks. The ministry also confirmed that it will send notifications to affected customers via the “Sahel” government application, using data registered with the Public Authority for Civil Information. Additionally, a direct link will be provided through the ministry’s official social media accounts to monitor the status and stages of maintenance, both at the start and upon completion.

Engineer Fatima Jauhar Hayat concluded by emphasizing that these efforts are part of the ministry’s ongoing plan to improve the quality of services provided. She also thanked citizens and residents for their cooperation and understanding of the importance of these works.
