The Ambassador of Ukraine to Kuwait, Dr. Maksym Subch, emphasized the importance of the humanitarian role played by Kuwait in supporting peoples affected by crises and disasters, commending the continuous efforts of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in providing humanitarian and relief aid to various countries around the world.

Subch, following his meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Khaled Al-Mughams, stated that his country values the humanitarian support provided by Kuwait during the early years of the war, which was highly appreciated by the Ukrainian government and its people.

He added that humanitarian needs in Ukraine continue to grow amid the ongoing crisis and waves of displacement, noting that the energy sector has suffered significant damage, creating an urgent need for generators and essential equipment, alongside requirements in the health sector.

He pointed out that the meeting discussed a list of priority humanitarian needs and ways to enhance coordination in delivering relief aid to the Ukrainian people, expressing his hope to expand cooperation in the coming phase through exchange visits and the implementation of projects serving shared humanitarian goals.

For his part, Khaled Al-Mughams, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, affirmed in a statement similar to that issued by KUNA that Kuwait will continue its humanitarian role in supporting and protecting peoples affected by disasters and wars, in line with its established approach to humanitarian work and its commitment to alleviating the suffering of those in need around the world.

Al-Mughams said the meeting addressed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides, contributing to supporting relief efforts and meeting priority needs amid the ongoing humanitarian challenges facing the country.

He added that both sides discussed several proposals aimed at developing joint cooperation, paving the way for their study and the establishment of appropriate mechanisms for implementation, noting that the Society had previously provided humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people covering the energy, health, and food sectors.

He clarified that the meeting reviewed the key humanitarian and relief activities carried out by the Society domestically and internationally, affirming that Kuwait has set a solid example in responding to humanitarian crises and answering relief appeals in collaboration with various international entities.
