The Cabinet approved a draft decree abolishing Decree No. 240 of 2012, which established the Silk City (Sabiyah) Development Authority and Bubiyan Island.
In a statement following its meeting on Tuesday in the conference hall of the administrative building at the Martyr’s Park (Phase III), chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Council announced that it had forwarded the draft decree to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Council was also informed that His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, representing His Highness the Amir, would officially open Phase III of the Martyr’s Park at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Council’s statement further noted that the opening of Phase III of the park will feature the national celebratory artistic performance “Al-Sour” at the Al-Sour Theater building within the park, with the participation of several prominent artists.
