State Minister for Development and Sustainability, Dr. Reem Al-Faleh, announced the referral of a case involving the loss of several important official documents and files related to the work of the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs to the Public Prosecution, in light of the findings of the administrative inspection and investigation and the recommendation issued by the competent inquiry committee.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Faleh said the referral stems from the Ministry’s responsibility to safeguard public funds and uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability. She explained that, based on the facts and observations identified that required examination and verification by the competent authorities, the necessary legal measures were taken and the matter was referred to the relevant prosecution.
She emphasized that any observation affecting the integrity of procedures or the public interest is addressed without leniency, while fully respecting the jurisdiction and independence of the judicial authorities.
Al-Faleh stressed that oversight and accountability are inherent responsibilities that are not subject to any considerations, and that protecting the public interest remains a constant priority in all decisions and measures taken.
