Mojtaba Khamenei: Iran is the world's leading power according to 'divine calculations' - Sarmad
Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said that there are now those who consider his country the “fourth greatest power in the world,” adding that Iranian strikes prevented “enemy” forces from crossing the Arabian Sea, and he threatened that the Arabian Sea would soon be cleared of them as well.
In a statement attributed to Khamenei on the anniversary of the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq War, it was stated that the waters south of Iran were previously a theater for the movement of his country’s adversaries’ forces, but “painful strikes” inflicted by Iranian fighters and “guardians of the Strait of Hormuz” forced them to retreat.
He added that those forces suffered damage every time they ventured to advance, before saying, “And soon the Arabian Sea will also be cleared of them.”
Khamenei said that Iran has reached a stage where its enemies themselves, rather than their followers, are seeking protection from Iranian attacks and “begging for a halt to the war.”
He added that “there are now those who consider us the fourth greatest power in the world,” but stated that Iran is “the number one power in the world” according to “divine calculations.”
Khamenei spoke of the change in Iran’s position compared to past decades, saying that the era its enemies wish to return to was characterized by “backwardness, humiliation, subservience, and bad reputation,” whereas today it is marked by “progress, dignity, and independence.” He added, “Those past days that our enemy wishes to see return have passed and will never recur.”
Khamenei referred to state-sponsored nighttime meetings aimed at mobilizing his supporters in major squares in Tehran and other Iranian cities. He said that Iranians have continued to gather in squares and streets across the country for seven months, and that more than 30 million Iranians have declared their readiness to “sacrifice themselves.”
He added that when they were asked to reiterate their readiness to facilitate the organization of participants, the required number, exceeding 500,000 people, was reached within the first 100 minutes.
Khamenei pointed to various forms of “readiness” across the country, specifically highlighting “armed preparations,” and said that different segments of society adhere to positions including “maintaining control over the Strait of Hormuz.”
Khamenei considered that the Iranian regime emerged from the Iran-Iraq War stronger than it was before, and that this pattern repeated itself in subsequent confrontations. He said that pressures, particularly the “last two imposed wars,” have made the Iranian regime stronger. He predicted that “the coming days will be far more glorious than these days.”
Khamenei has not appeared publicly, nor has a documented audio or video recording of him been released since his selection as Supreme Leader on March 8, following the killing of his father, Ali Khamenei, in US-Israeli strikes that began on February 28.
