US Treasury Secretary Expects Iranian Foreign Trade to Collapse Within Two Weeks - Sarmad

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent predicted that Iran would complete its remaining oil shipments to China within two weeks, leaving Tehran “with nothing to trade for anything else.”

Speaking to Fox News, Bessent said that only about 15 million barrels of Iranian oil remain in transit for delivery, following the imposition of U.S. sanctions on Iranian ports, and he viewed the decline in shipments as evidence that the “economic ostracism” strategy has successfully isolated Iran economically.

He added, “They will likely have nothing left to trade for anything else within the next two weeks. They will complete their final oil shipments to China, and after that, they will have nothing.”

The Treasury Secretary also expressed his belief that Iran is feeling pressure, which has renewed its interest in reaching an agreement.
