King Mohammed VI: Security and Stability of Saudi Arabia Integral Part of Morocco's Security - Sarmad
King Mohammed VI of Morocco, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Moroccan people, expressed his condemnation of the repeated attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militias against Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic facilities, vital infrastructure, and cities and residential areas populated by civilians. He emphasized that what intensifies these feelings of outrage is that these attacks have not been limited to targeting facilities and civilians, but have extended to desperate and sinful attempts to target the holiest sites on Earth, revered in the hearts of every Muslim: Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.
In two messages sent to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, the King stated: “In fulfillment of the bonds of religion, history, and shared destiny, and of the strong fraternal ties that unite us personally, our families, and our two brotherly peoples, I address you in this delicate moment through which your beloved country is passing, a moment that, given historical responsibility, religious values, and strategic considerations, requires us all to stand as one united front in defense of justice, sovereignty, security, and the sanctities of the Ummah.”
He added: “These despicable attacks and desperate attempts to undermine the security, stability, and well-being of the noble Saudi people represent not only an assault on the Kingdom, its esteemed people, and the pilgrims visiting it, but also a blatant affront to the feelings of more than 1.8 billion Muslims across the East and West. They also constitute a gross violation of the values and principles upon which the noble Islamic faith is founded, including peace, tolerance, and the sanctity of lives, honor, and sacred sites.”
He continued: “We express our condemnation of these criminal acts, for which the terrorist Houthi militias and those behind them, who fund and arm them, bear full responsibility. We hold them all accountable before God, history, and international law, with all the international sanctions that such accountability entails.”
The King of Morocco stressed that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia, like that of the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, is an inseparable part of the security of the Kingdom of Morocco. He affirmed: “Any attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco; because we consider the victory of our brothers in the Kingdom and in the brotherly Arab Gulf states to be a victory for justice and legitimacy, and defending their supreme interests is defending our shared strategic interests.”
The King of Morocco reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for Saudi Arabia in confronting the threats it faces due to the actions of terrorist and separatist militias and the regional forces backing them, which pursue short-sighted and destructive agendas aimed at undermining the security of the entire region, disrupting the stability enjoyed by its states, and threatening vital maritime passages, given their paramount importance to the global economy and the security of international maritime navigation.
He reiterated that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a gross violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216 (2015), which demands the militias’ withdrawal, surrender of weapons, and cessation of violence, and Resolution 2722 (2024), which calls for an immediate halt to attacks on maritime navigation. He stressed that targeting civilian areas, economic facilities, and holy sites represents a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and international treaties and customs, and cannot go unpunished or unaccountable.
