Ministry of Commerce allows the establishment of the 25th World Gold and Jewelry Exhibition - Sarmad

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a ministerial decision in the official gazette, “Kuwait Today,” in its Sunday edition, permitting the establishment of the “25th World Gold and Jewelry Exhibition.”

The decision stipulates that the Kuwait International Exhibition Company is authorized to hold a gold and jewelry exhibition under the name “25th World Gold and Jewelry Exhibition,” running from Thursday, December 17, 2026, to Tuesday, December 22, 2026. The official operating hours for the aforementioned exhibition are set as follows: Thursday through Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., at the International Exhibition Grounds in Mishref.

It further states that unmarked jewelry may be displayed within the temporary customs warehouse area, provided that marking and payment of applicable customs duties are completed before the sale is finalized and the items are handed over to the buyer. Each piece of jewelry must be accompanied by a detailed data card and photographic images of high-artistic-value items. Serial numbers and specifications of the pieces must be recorded in lists signed and certified by the Precious Metals Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The applicant must provide the ministry with a detailed list of exhibitors at least one week prior to the exhibition’s opening, in compliance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 117 of 2022 and all other relevant regulatory requirements.
