The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announces the start of the Hajj nomination period for the 1448 AH season on Sunday
(KUNA) – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced the start of the nomination period for the 1448 AH Hajj season, beginning tomorrow, Sunday, in accordance with the procedures and regulations approved by the Ministry.
In a press statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Ministry stated that nominees will receive nomination notifications via the “Sahl” app, and each nominee must register with one of the Hajj companies within three days of receiving the notification.
The Ministry clarified that completing registration requires payment of the deposit set by the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Committee for each pilgrim in the group, emphasizing that “registration with a Hajj campaign is not possible without paying the deposit.” It added that the nomination will be canceled if the nominee fails to register with a Hajj company within the specified deadline.
The Ministry further noted that a nominee receiving a nomination notification for the first time may postpone their nomination once via the “Sahl” app. However, those who were nominated in the 1447 AH Hajj season and already postponed their nomination are not eligible to postpone again. The Ministry specified that “the postponement applies to the entire application, and individual members cannot be postponed separately.”
To facilitate communication between nominees and Hajj companies, the Ministry indicated that nominees may visit the 8th Hajj and Umrah Exhibition (“Labayk”) or the companies’ headquarters. The exhibition opens tomorrow and will run for seven days, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Kuwait International Fair, Outdoor Hall (B).
The Ministry outlined the requirements for registering with Hajj campaigns, which include a personal photo and a copy of the passport via the “Sahl” app, a copy of the civil ID via the “Hawiti” app, and payment of the required deposit to secure the booking. It also stipulated that the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of the pilgrims’ departure and remain valid until December 2027.
Regarding regulatory deadlines, the Ministry stressed the necessity of paying the first installment immediately upon receiving the nomination notification and completing payment for the contracted Hajj package by November 1, 2026, which is also the final deadline for transferring between Hajj companies. It clarified that transferring from one campaign to another is permitted only once.
Concerning cancellation and refund policies, the Ministry stated that those who cancel their registration on or before December 30, 2026, will receive a full refund of the amounts paid for the package without any deductions. In the event of cancellation after this date, a full refund without deductions will be issued provided that the vacant seat resulting from the cancellation is filled by a nominee from the reserve list and the replacement’s registration procedures are completed.
The Ministry confirmed that failure to pay the full Hajj deposit will result in the cancellation of the entire application. It also noted that information on Hajj campaigns and prices can be accessed through the “Hajj Campaign Data Inquiry” service available on the “Sahl” app.
