Kuwait Wins Two Awards at the Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunis - Sarmad
Kuwait was awarded two prizes at the conclusion of the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival, held in the Tunisian capital under the slogan “The Pulse of the Image and the Echo of the Future,” amid extensive Arab media and artistic participation.
The competitions committee of the Union of Arab Broadcasting Organizations announced that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information won the two awards. Kuwait Radio secured second place in the documentary programs category for the program “Midway,” while Kuwait Television won second place in the children and family programs category for the program “Today’s Secret.”
The four-day festival concluded with an artistic performance at the Opera House titled “Travel to You and Sing,” featuring a select group of Arab artists.
The festival included technology exhibitions and a program market in the city of Hammamet, with specialized Arab and Chinese participation in media production and broadcasting. It also featured a series of professional seminars on the future of Arab drama, artificial intelligence in media, tourism media, and podcasts.
The festival, organized by the Union of Arab Broadcasting Organizations since 1969, is one of the most prominent media platforms in the Arab world. It is held annually in cooperation with the Tunisian Radio and Television Corporation and the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat).
Prior to the festival events, the 115th meeting of the Executive Council of the Union of Arab Broadcasting Organizations was held in Hammamet, Tunisia, chaired by Saudi Arabia and attended by member states, including Kuwait, represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Information. The meeting included discussions on enhancing news and program exchanges among Arab bodies, developing the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, and the “ASPO” cloud platform, in addition to training programs and financial and artistic reports.
The current edition addressed topics related to the volume of news and program exchanges among Arab radio and television bodies through the exchange basket under the Exchange Center in Algeria, as well as media training activities for staff of Arab bodies through the Union’s Training Academy in Tunisia, in addition to the financial report prepared by the Administrative and Financial Committee.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia chairs the current edition, represented by the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, which added a broad dimension to the festival, contributing to diversifying its activities and strengthening its presence at the Arab and international levels.
