In a notable escalation, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader warned on Friday that if Iranian air traffic is disrupted, no country in the region will be permitted to operate flights.

In a statement on Friday, he said that if Iran is unable to operate flights, no other country in the region will be able to do so either, adding that “the region’s airspace is either open to everyone or closed to everyone.”
