Kuwait-Iraq Meeting to Enhance Cooperation and Coordination - Sarmad
(KUNA) – A joint meeting was held on Thursday between the Kuwaiti and Iraqi sides, attended by a number of security and military leaders from the two brotherly countries, within the framework of enhancing cooperation and coordination and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release on Thursday that this came during the Kuwaiti side’s reception of Major General Dr. Saad Maan, Head of the Security Media Cell of the Republic of Iraq. He affirmed the depth of the brotherly relations between Kuwait and Iraq and the commitment to continue developing frameworks of cooperation and coordination between the competent authorities in both countries.
The statement added that a number of common topics and axes were discussed, foremost among them strengthening “security, media, and military cooperation” and developing coordination mechanisms to help highlight efforts and exchange information.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance media coordination in countering rumors and limiting their spread through rapid monitoring, response, and handling, in addition to strengthening direct communication channels between the competent authorities in both countries to ensure swift responsiveness to events and developments.
Both sides affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging expertise, and highlighting the joint efforts of the security and military institutions in the State of Kuwait and the brotherly Republic of Iraq, thereby reinforcing the system of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The Kuwaiti side included Major General Majbal Al-Rashidi, Head of the Border Security and Coast Guard Sector; Colonel Nasser Al-Bousleeb, Director General of the General Directorate of Security and Media Relations; and Colonel Rakan Saud Al-Atwan, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, along with a number of security and military leaders.
The Iraqi side included Major General Dr. Saad Maan, Head of the Security Media Cell; Sabah Al-Na’mani, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces; and a number of security leaders.
