Kuwait and the United Nations discuss enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism

On Wednesday evening, Assistant Undersecretary for International Organizations Affairs at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sadiq Ma’arfi, held talks with Acting Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate, Alexander Zuyev, on cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the United Nations in the field of counter-terrorism and ways to enhance it.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, during which the two sides exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation within the framework of the United Nations, and supporting international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, as well as enhancing global security and stability.
