Al-Yousef Discusses with Bahraini Interior Minister Strengthening Security Cooperation and Supporting Gulf Cooperation
(KUNA) – Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, met with Bahraini Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in Manama on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance security cooperation and the latest regional and international developments, aiming to support security and stability and strengthen the shared Gulf security agenda.
The Bahraini Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that the meeting took place during the Bahraini Minister of Interior’s reception of Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflects the strong fraternal ties and close historical relations between the two sister countries.
The statement noted that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf affirmed Kuwait’s steadfast support for Bahrain in confronting any threats to its security and stability, underscoring the historical bonds linking the two sister states and their peoples.
For his part, the Bahraini Minister of Interior welcomed Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf’s visit, expressing pride in the high level of security cooperation and coordination achieved within the framework of joint efforts to address security challenges and regional shifts.
In this context, he affirmed Bahrain’s support for all measures taken by Kuwait to safeguard its security and stability, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the exchange of expertise across all security domains between the two countries to ensure public safety and security within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its shared principles underpinning Gulf cooperation.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing security cooperation and coordination, as well as the exchange of expertise and information, between the interior ministries of the two sister countries, praising the advanced level of bilateral relations and the close cooperation witnessed across various security fields.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the importance of unifying efforts and strengthening Gulf security partnerships to address current challenges and support all initiatives that consolidate the pillars of security and stability and advance shared interests.
