The Cabinet approved a draft law decree concerning housing finance for beneficiaries of residential care, reflecting the state’s commitment and full responsibility to address family issues and needs, with housing care being paramount.
This came during the Cabinet meeting held today, Tuesday, under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister.
The Cabinet stated that the draft law decree aims to fulfill the state’s capacity to sustainably provide dignified housing for Kuwaiti citizens.
It noted that Law No. (118) of 2023 concerning the establishment of companies for creating or developing residential cities or areas and their economic development, as amended by Law Decree No. (89) of 2025, constitutes one of the pillars in resolving the housing problem. In light of the government’s desire to strengthen this law and achieve its objectives, the need arose for a new law to serve as one of the alternatives contributing to solving the housing issue from an economic perspective that ensures the required sustainability.
The Cabinet forwarded the draft law decree to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
