Representative of His Highness the Amir Holds Talks with the Turkish President on Ways to Enhance and Develop Close Bilateral Relations

(KUNA) – The representative of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State, may God protect and guard him, met today with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, may God protect him, in his capacity as the representative of His Highness the Amir, with His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, a friendly nation. The meeting took place at the permanent mission of the Republic of Turkey to the United Nations in New York City, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the eighty-first session of the UN General Assembly.

At the outset of the meeting, the Crown Prince conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State, may God protect and guard him, to His Excellency the President, along with best wishes for his good health and for continued progress and prosperity for the Republic of Turkey and its friendly people.

The meeting discussed the close bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Turkey, as well as ways to enhance and develop these ties across various fields in the interest of both countries and their friendly peoples. It also addressed regional and international developments and issues of mutual concern.

Attending the meeting were His Excellency Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority; His Excellency Ambassador Mansour Ayad Al-Otaibi; His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Muhammad Ma’arifi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs; and His Excellency Ambassador Tariq Muhammad Al-Bunai, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
