Our Ambassador to Egypt Receives Delegation from Al-Tamouh Club Participating in the Special Olympics
(KUNA) — Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt, Ghanim Al-Ghanim, affirmed that the participation of the Kuwaiti Al-Tamawuh Club for persons with intellectual disabilities in the 10th Regional Games of the Special Olympics (Cairo 2026) reflects Kuwait’s commitment to empowering its citizens with disabilities and supporting their sports and community participation.
In a speech delivered during the reception of the Al-Tamawuh Club delegation at the Kuwaiti Embassy on Monday, Ambassador Al-Ghanim stated that this participation embodies the attention and care the State of Kuwait affords to its citizens with intellectual disabilities, as well as its dedication to supporting their capabilities and enabling their active participation in various sports and community fields, thereby enhancing their integration and allowing them to showcase their talents and achieve their aspirations.
He commended the efforts of the Kuwaiti Al-Tamawuh Club in caring for and training athletes with intellectual disabilities and providing them with opportunities to participate in regional and international sports forums. He emphasized that the achievements of Kuwaiti athletes in these competitions are a source of pride and honor for Kuwait and its people.
The ambassador also appreciated Egypt’s role in hosting and organizing the Special Olympics events, noting the facilities and facilitations provided to ensure the success of this sports and humanitarian showcase. He pointed out that Cairo’s hosting of these events reflects its role in supporting sports for persons with disabilities and strengthening Arab cooperation in this field.
He expressed his wishes for success and good fortune to the members of the Kuwaiti delegation, including players, coaches, and administrators, in their competitions. He affirmed that participation itself constitutes a significant achievement, and that the spirit of challenge and determination exhibited by the athletes embodies noble humanitarian and sports values, underscoring the power of will and resolve to overcome various challenges.
Ambassador Al-Ghanim reaffirmed Kuwait’s continued support for initiatives and programs that contribute to empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing their participation in society, driven by its belief in the importance of providing equal opportunities for all, in line with its approach to supporting humanitarian, community, and sports endeavors.
