Security cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq leads to seizure of 700,000 Captagon pills

The Ministry of Interior stated that the General Directorate for Anti-Narcotics succeeded in seizing 700,000 tablets of the psychotropic substance “Captagon,” a result of security cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq and coordinated efforts to combat drug trafficking and apprehend those involved.

In a statement posted on the “X” platform on Sunday, the ministry said the operation led to the arrest of one suspect of Iraqi nationality and another individual residing illegally, at a farm in the Kabd area. Both were found in possession of the seized quantity. Upon confrontation, they admitted that the drugs belonged to them and were intended for trafficking.

The ministry added that the two suspects have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.

The ministry emphasized that this operation highlights the importance of international security cooperation in apprehending drug traffickers, exposing their activities, and preventing the spread of these poisons, thereby contributing to protecting society and strengthening joint efforts to combat the scourge of drugs.
