Al-Maliki: Interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia towards Riyadh

The official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces, “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced that the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the city of Riyadh early Saturday morning.

Major General Al-Maliki clarified that the terrorist Houthi militia’s escalation and its continued attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in the capital, Riyadh—a city home to more than eight million citizens and residents—confirm the militia’s intransigence and its deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian objects in a terrorist and hostile manner.

He added that the Houthi militia had attempted to target civilians and civilian objects in the cities of Bishah, Al-Taif, Farsan, and Yanbu, but these hostile attempts were thwarted by the air defense forces.

Major General Al-Maliki affirmed the Coalition’s inherent right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate, in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules, to deter the terrorist Houthi militia’s behavior.
