Media: IRGC experts visited Bab el-Mandeb to install radars - Sarmad

French news agency AFP cited two Houthi military sources on Saturday, saying that experts from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps visited the Bab el-Mandeb area to study the installation of radars nearby and to oversee tunnel-digging operations in the mountainous hills overlooking the region.

The two sources said the Iranian experts working with the Houthis visited the Bab el-Mandeb area, as well as Mukha port and airport, and the Jabal al-Nar camp east of Mukha.

They added that the experts supervised tunnel-digging work in the hills overlooking Mukha and Bab el-Mandeb, and examined the process of installing radars near Mukha and on Zaqar Island in the southern Red Sea.

The two sources indicated that the experts arrived from Hodeidah and conducted separate visits between Thursday and Friday.

In the same context, Yemeni government sources told AFP on Saturday that fighting had intensified between the Houthis and government forces around the Khabub Mountains area, which overlooks Bab el-Mandeb.

The conflict in Yemen has seen a sharp escalation since July, against the backdrop of the war in the Middle East between Iran and the United States.
