Aman Team Reviews the Crisis and Emergency Management System in the United Kingdom - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The working team tasked with establishing the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management (AMAN) at the national level visited the UK Cabinet Office Briefing Rooms (COBR) to examine the United Kingdom’s crisis and emergency management system, inter-agency coordination mechanisms, and decision-support processes during crises and major incidents.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the team said the visit featured extensive discussions and an exchange of inquiries regarding operational, coordination, and crisis response mechanisms. The British side provided an overview of key procedures, established practices, experiences, and lessons learned in this field.

The team noted that it reviewed the role of the UK Resilience Academy in building national capabilities and enhancing the skills of leaders and professionals in resilience, emergency, and crisis management through specialized training, capacity-building programs, and exercises.

It was mentioned that both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between Kuwait and the United Kingdom in the areas of emergency, crisis, and disaster management, as well as risk management. The British side expressed its readiness to collaborate and share expertise to support Kuwait’s efforts in establishing and developing the AMAN center, while benefiting from the British experience in this domain.

The team added that this visit is part of its program to study international experiences and best practices, aiming to support the development of Kuwait’s national system for emergency, crisis, and disaster management and risk management.

The AMAN team, under the Council of Ministers, is responsible for establishing a comprehensive national system for emergency and disaster management, unifying national efforts, building an integrated framework for risk management, and enhancing readiness and crisis response capabilities.
