US blocks Iranian UN delegation from shopping - Sarmad

The United States imposed strict conditions on the Iranian delegation participating in the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott confirmed on Thursday that the Iranian delegation’s access to wholesale markets and luxury goods would be restricted.

He wrote on the X platform: “While ordinary Iranians suffer under brutal repression, water and electricity shortages, and soaring inflation, regime officials want to go on shopping sprees in New York.”

He added, “Not under our watch. We will not allow the Iranian regime’s elite to exploit the UN General Assembly to shop for luxury goods with funds derived from the suffering of the Iranian people, all while the regime pumps Iran’s wealth to support its terrorist proxies.”
