24 Hours Before Launch.. Hussein Al-Mutairi: Japanese Nagoya Ready to Host Asia's Premier Event

Hussain Al-Musallam, Director of the Olympic Council of Asia, announced that the Japanese city of Nagoya is ready to host the 20th edition of the Asian Games, scheduled from September 19 to October 4, with participation from 45 National Olympic Committees and approximately 11,000 athletes.

Al-Musallam affirmed that the preparations preceding the official competitions are cause for satisfaction, citing the organizational and technical requirements that ensure the continental sporting event is held in a manner befitting its Asian stature. He noted that the Games will witness fierce competition among athletes for medals, with 469 events across more than 43 sports.

The Games will feature several new sports, including mixed martial arts, padel, surfing, virtual taekwondo, and teqball.

The event has attracted significant media interest for coverage of the largest sporting event in Asia, with more than 10,000 registration requests from journalists and media personnel, allocated for television broadcasting and media coverage of the competitions.
