Pakistan: We Stand Side by Side with Saudi Arabia in Defense of the Security of the Two Holy Mosques - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed on Thursday that Islamabad stands “firmly side by side” with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of the Two Holy Mosques.

Spokesman Sajjad Khan, speaking at a press conference, said that Pakistan continues to closely monitor developments in the Middle East in light of the ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia.

Khan noted that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attempt to target Mecca with a drone, which endangered civilians, civilian infrastructure, and Islamic holy sites in Saudi Arabia.

He added that Prime Minister Sharif praised the exceptional vigilance, courage, and professionalism demonstrated by the Saudi Armed Forces in their swift response.

Khan expressed Pakistan’s ongoing concern over the continuous escalation and its repercussions on regional peace and security, maritime navigation, and global energy supplies.
