Egypt Successfully Recovers Ancient Golden Mask in Coordination with Swiss Authorities - Sarmad

The Egyptian Embassy in Bern successfully recovered an ancient golden mummy mask in coordination with Swiss authorities.

Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Najm received the artifact on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad.

The handover ceremony for the golden mask was attended by the Head of the Central Administration for the Recovery of Antiquities at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, within the framework of the close and growing cooperation between Egypt and Switzerland across various fields.

The Egyptian Ministry stated that this cooperation prioritizes the protection of cultural property and the fight against illicit trafficking in antiquities, reflecting both countries’ commitment to enhancing coordination and exchanging expertise in this area, as well as combating the smuggling and illegal trade of artifacts, thereby contributing to the preservation of cultural and civilizational heritage and its protection from all forms of exploitation and unlawful trade.
