Al-Azhar Condemns Attempt to Target Makkah Al-Mukarramah: A Sinful Assault on a Sanctity Exalted by God - Sarmad

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemned and strongly denounced the attempt to target Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the qibla of Muslims and the destination of their hearts. It affirmed that endangering the Holy Land constitutes a heinous crime and a sinful violation of a sanctity that God has exalted. It described such actions as a provocation of the sentiments of Muslims across the globe, warning against the consequences of expanding the scope of conflict to encompass Islamic sanctities. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif stressed that it is inconceivable for Makkah Al-Mukarramah to become a battleground or a target of threats, emphasizing that the sanctity of Makkah Al-Mukarramah is a fundamental tenet of Islamic faith and the beliefs of Muslims, which must not be violated or approached with ill intent.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif affirmed that the security of the Two Holy Mosques is not a political or regional issue, but a matter that concerns the faith of the entire Muslim ummah. It stated that targeting the Holy Land or endangering it constitutes an affront to the sentiments of two billion Muslims and a violation of the sanctity of sacred sites toward which the hearts of Muslims turn in their prayers, to which they perform the Hajj from every distant land, and around which they gather despite differences in their homelands, schools of thought, languages, and ethnicities. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif underscored that preserving the sanctity of the Holy Land and ensuring the safety of the site and its visitors is a responsibility that must be respected by Muslims and non-Muslims alike, free from the calculations of conflict and politics.
