Egypt Condemns Settlers' Infiltration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Calls for an End to Violations - Sarmad

Egypt strongly condemned the incursion of Israeli settlers into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, a blatant violation of the sanctity of religious sites in Jerusalem. In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt warned of the dangers of repeating such violations and their underlying attempts to impose a new reality within the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which threatens to inflame tensions and undermine prospects for restoring calm and stability. Egypt emphasized the necessity of respecting the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, as it is a place exclusively dedicated to Muslim worship, and reaffirmed its firm rejection of any attempts to divide it temporally or spatially, or to undermine the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Egypt called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, confront these violations, and halt unilateral measures aimed at altering the status quo in occupied East Jerusalem.
