Amr Moussa: Egyptian-Saudi coordination is no longer an option, but a necessity dictated by the gravity of the situation in the region - Sarmad

Former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, welcomed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Egypt, his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and the Saudi-Egyptian talks.

Moussa stressed that Egyptian-Saudi rapprochement and coordination are no longer merely an option, but an imperative dictated by the gravity of the situation in the region. He pointed out that repeated attacks on Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, and Jordan, alongside assaults on Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem, coupled with escalating threats to the security of the Red Sea and navigation in regional waters, necessitate a clear and effective Arab stance.

He stated that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are two fundamental pillars of the Arab order, and that their rapprochement and close coordination are essential to launching a comprehensive Arab political movement that safeguards Arab security and interests and restores the Arab role in determining the future of their region, emphasizing that silence is no longer an acceptable option.
