German Mercedes-Benz recalls more than 23,000 cars worldwide - Sarmad

(KUNA) – German automaker Mercedes-Benz announced on Monday the recall of more than 23,000 GLC models worldwide, including over 6,000 in Germany, due to a defect that could cause a sudden loss of power.

According to a statement from the company’s headquarters in Stuttgart, the defect may increase the risk of accidents. The recall covers diesel and hybrid vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2025.

The company stated that the defect stems from the improper installation of a protective shield, which could damage the fuel pipe and, in turn, prevent the vehicle from accelerating.

Mercedes clarified that the repair process will involve inspecting the protective shield and fuel pipe, and carrying out necessary repairs at its workshops in Germany.
