Egyptian media: Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Egypt tomorrow to discuss navigation security and regional escalation - Sarmad

A Saudi diplomatic source confirmed on Monday that Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman will begin a one-day official visit to Egypt tomorrow, during which he will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and several senior officials, according to the Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm.

According to the source, ensuring freedom of navigation at the Bab al-Mandab strait to prevent the situation at the entrance to the Red Sea from becoming a permanent threat to international shipping, safeguarding the flow of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, and supporting the full liberation of Yemen will top the agenda of the two sides’ talks.

The source added that the talks will also cover developments in the Middle East, including the situations in Sudan and Somalia, recent developments in the Palestinian and Syrian arenas, and enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields that serve their developmental priorities and mutual interests.

Furthermore, the talks will address ways to counter Iranian aggression and the actions of Tehran’s proxies against Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as well as support efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
