The team responsible for establishing the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management at the national level, “Aman,” visited the Italian Civil Protection Department to learn about Italy’s experience in crisis and disaster management, coordination and emergency response mechanisms, and decision-support systems at the national level.
In a press statement, the “Aman” team said that this visit is part of the team’s program to study international experiences and benefit from best practices in civil protection and crisis and disaster management, thereby supporting efforts to develop the national system in the State of Kuwait.
During the visit, the team reviewed the center’s operational mechanisms, communication and coordination systems during crises, procedures for handling various emergency situations, as well as the role of the systems and technologies used to enhance response speed and improve the efficiency of crisis management.
The visit also included the Italian Civil Protection’s training center, where the team examined training, qualification, exercises, and simulation programs designed to enhance the readiness of personnel and response teams, and discussed ways to leverage the Italian experience in capacity building and specialized training.
It is worth noting that the “Aman” team, under the Council of Ministers, is tasked with establishing a comprehensive national system for emergency and disaster management, unifying national efforts, building an integrated framework for risk management, and raising the level of readiness and response to crises.
