Omani Foreign Minister: Postponement of the regional meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Salalah - Sarmad

Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi announced on Sunday the postponement of a regional meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Salalah, “in order to achieve consensus.”

Al Busaidi wrote on X: “In order to achieve consensus, the regional meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Salalah has been postponed. We reaffirm our commitment to enhancing dialogue that supports stability and sustainable cooperation in our region.”

The regional meeting was originally scheduled to take place in Salalah on Monday, with participation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iran, as part of efforts to de-escalate tensions and open channels for direct dialogue between the two sides, following the ongoing US-Iran war since February last year and the mutual attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

This postponement comes at a time when the region is witnessing rapid military escalation, as the United States continues its military and economic campaign against Iran, amid ongoing attacks on US bases and rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
