Trump: We will not forget the September 11 attacks... and we will not surrender to terrorists - Sarmad

U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that the United States would never forget the September 11 attacks, stressing that his country is facing a new test of national security today amid the ongoing confrontation with Iran.

In a speech delivered on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Trump said the United States could not forget the “moment of evil” the nation witnessed that day, adding that Americans are rediscovering their national identity and must be strong and smart.

He continued, “I affirm that we will never forget what happened on September 11, and we are fighting today in fulfillment of that pledge.”

The U.S. president noted that after facing the test of the September 11 attacks, the United States is now undergoing a new test, asserting that his country has proven its success in it.

Trump emphasized in his speech that Iran, in his description, is the “primary sponsor of terrorism in the world,” and affirmed that Tehran would never acquire a nuclear weapon.

He stated that U.S. forces are currently working to ensure that Iran does not possess a nuclear weapon.

Trump’s remarks come as the United States commemorates the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, which claimed nearly 3,000 lives. Memorial ceremonies were held at the three attack sites, including a ceremony at the Pentagon attended by Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

This year’s anniversary coincides with the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, two hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, while a third plane struck the U.S. Department of Defense building (the Pentagon) in Washington, D.C., and a fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania.
