China: BRICS the most important platform for cooperation between emerging markets and developing countries - Sarmad

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced that BRICS represents the most important platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries, and that Beijing is ready to work with all BRICS partners.

Speaking at a regular press conference on Friday, Mao responded to a question regarding China’s expectations for the 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi, stating that “BRICS is the most important platform for solidarity and cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries in today’s world.”

She added that since its establishment, BRICS countries have adhered to the BRICS spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, remained committed to safeguarding multilateralism, upholding integrity and justice, and striving for shared development, becoming a leading force for the Global South, both in name and in reality.

The spokesperson noted that “China attaches great importance to BRICS cooperation and actively participates in it.”

Mao emphasized that “Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the upcoming summit and deliver an important speech, and will hold in-depth meetings with leaders of other countries on key issues, including the current international situation, the development of the BRICS mechanism, and deepening practical cooperation. China will put forward important initiatives and proposals to chart a course for high-quality development of major BRICS cooperation.”

She stressed that “China is ready to work with all BRICS partners to steadily advance major BRICS cooperation, push it forward, and contribute BRICS’ efforts to building a community with a shared future for mankind.”
