Yemeni Defense Council: Confrontation with the Houthis will not be limited to a single front - Sarmad

The Yemeni National Defense Council confirmed on Thursday that the deterrence operation launched by the Yemeni Armed Forces would not be confined to a single front, adding that it would deal firmly with sources of threat and Houthi militia movements, in accordance with its military assessments, rules of engagement, and international humanitarian law, as reported by the Yemeni News Agency, Saba Net.

Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Yemeni Armed Forces, chaired a meeting of the National Defense Council. Attendees included members of the Presidential Leadership Council Sultan al-Aradi, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majali, Mahmoud al-Subaihi, and Salem al-Khanbashi. Tariq Saleh was absent.

The meeting was also attended by Speaker of the Parliament Sultan al-Barakani, Prime Minister Shuaib al-Zindani, Chairman of the Shura Council Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority Mohammed al-Ghaithi, and a number of ministers and relevant officials.

The meeting discussed field developments across various fronts, in light of the terrorist escalation by Houthi militias and its repercussions on national security, regional stability, and the security of waterways.

The Council heard military and security reports on operations at the fronts of Taiz, Marib, Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, and Dhamar, as well as assessments of readiness levels and measures taken to regain the initiative.
