Acting Minister of Information and Culture Participates in the Tenth Meeting of Gulf Ministers Responsible for Tourism in Manama - Sarmad

(KUNA) – State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Media and Culture Omar Al-Omar participated on Thursday in the tenth meeting of ministers responsible for tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting, chaired by Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Al-Sirafi and attended by GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi and the ministers responsible for tourism in the GCC states, emphasized the importance of continuing joint Gulf efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination in the tourism sector, develop collaborative Gulf initiatives, and support the tourism industry by strengthening its foundations and bolstering the GCC countries’ status as a regional and international tourist destination.

The meeting also addressed a number of topics and issues related to developing the tourism sector, enhancing cooperation, and exchanging expertise and experiences among GCC member states, thereby supporting joint tourism initiatives and projects and contributing to revitalizing tourist flows within the GCC.

Kuwait’s participation in the meeting underscores its commitment to developing the tourism sector and strengthening Gulf cooperation in this field, in line with the rapid regional and international developments in the tourism industry and supporting the GCC states’ orientation toward diversifying tourism offerings and leveraging the rich assets of the Arab Gulf countries.
