Apple Unveils First Foldable iPhone Under the Name iPhone Duo - Sarmad

Apple officially unveiled today its first foldable iPhone, named the iPhone Duo, marking the most significant design change for the iPhone in nearly two decades.

The device features a titanium build and, when unfolded, becomes the thinnest iPhone in history. It also boasts the largest screen ever on an iPhone, while simultaneously being the smallest iPhone in terms of overall size.

Thanks to its foldable display, the device offers a screen 50% larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The iPhone Duo includes a 5.4-inch external display and will later be supported by the Apple Pencil.

Apple is launching its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, in only two colors: white and black.

John Ternus, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, stated that the larger screen could pave the way for new uses for a device that plays a central role in users’ daily lives.

Ternus explained, “For a device that plays such a pivotal role in your life, a larger screen opens up entirely new possibilities. We believe the best way to achieve this is through a foldable design.”

Ternus criticized competing foldable phone designs, noting that some look like “two phones awkwardly stuck together,” highlighting Apple’s effort to deliver a more integrated experience with its upcoming device.

Apple’s foldable phone is roughly the size of a passport and features a design with both an internal and an external display, allowing it to be used as a traditional phone when closed and as a larger-screen device when unfolded.
