Kuwait Olympic Committee President: Participation in the Asian Games is an important milestone for Kuwaiti sports - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Kuwait Olympic Committee President Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah affirmed on Wednesday that participation in the 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya) in Japan represents an important milestone for Kuwaiti sport and an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Kuwaiti athletes at one of the largest Asian sporting platforms.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah said in a press statement on the occasion of the departure of the Kuwaiti delegation to the Asian Games that the delegation comprises 120 athletes competing in 16 sports: shooting, athletics, football, golf, modern pentathlon, fencing, teqball, sport climbing, karate, equestrian, squash, jiu-jitsu, swimming, handball, padel, and sailing.
He added that the Kuwait Olympic Committee has ensured providing all necessary preparations to enable the delegation to appear in a dignified manner befitting the name of the State of Kuwait.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard them, for their continuous support of Kuwaiti sport and their keen interest in Kuwaiti athletes.
He also expressed his thanks to the private sector, represented by Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain) and the Kuwait Finance House, for their strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee and their ongoing support for Kuwaiti sport and athletes.
He called on the athletes to represent Kuwait with high spirit and great determination, wishing them success and achievements that would please the Kuwaiti people and raise the country’s flag high at the Asian Games.
