The United States plans to strike Iran's underground nuclear facilities - Sarmad

US media reported on Wednesday that plans to strike Iran’s underground nuclear facilities are ongoing.

CNN cited sources saying that “US efforts to develop plans for decisive strikes against Iran’s underground nuclear facilities are continuing,” suggesting that the facility is designed as a safe haven for Iran’s nuclear program.

This comes as a draft US-European resolution affirmed that Iran continues to fail to comply with its obligations regarding its nuclear file, expressing deep concern over this situation.

The draft resolution stressed that the lack of information about nuclear materials and the denial of access to Iranian facilities are two issues requiring urgent attention, reiterating the call on Tehran to promptly address its non-compliance with the safeguards agreement.

The draft called on Iran to engage seriously and without preconditions in talks aimed at building international confidence, while affirming support for reaching a diplomatic solution to the challenges posed by its nuclear program.

For his part, Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, stated that Iran’s membership in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty has not brought any benefit to the country, but has only led to the leakage of information about sensitive centers and scientists to intelligence agencies. He noted that despite extensive inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities, they have not helped the country access peaceful nuclear technology.

He claimed that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi is “a tool for the West and an outlet for US orders,” and affirmed that Iran would respond to any potential decision issued by the IAEA Board of Governors.
