Ukraine: Two dead and three injured after Russian drones target border crossing - Sarmad

A Russian drone attack on a border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova killed two people and injured three others, according to Oleg Kiper, governor of the Odesa region, on Wednesday.

Kiper said in a post on Telegram that the Starokozachyi land border crossing with Moldova was attacked by enemy drones during the night, adding that initial reports indicated two deaths and three injuries.

He noted that the crossing sustained damage and was subsequently closed.

Earlier, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service had reported the closure of the crossing, and both sources confirmed that Moldovan authorities were informed of the attack.

The Starokozachyi crossing is located at the far southeastern end of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, approximately 70 kilometers from the Ukrainian city of Odesa and 130 kilometers from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian emergency services reported in a separate Telegram post that Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, during the night, causing fires but no injuries, according to Reuters.
