US Treasury Secretary: Iran is in a state of panic over sanctions... we have cut off everything from it - Sarmad

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the Iranian regime is in a state of panic due to the broadest US sanctions campaign Washington has ever imposed against it, affirming that President Donald Trump is personally leading this effort under what is known as the “economic isolation” operation.
Bessent, speaking during a panel discussion, stated that Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon and that a 47-year era of exporting terrorism and using terrorist proxies will come to an end. He added, “I can tell you they are in a state of panic because of what we are doing.”
He continued, “Someone told me a few days ago that they fear Scott Bessent more than the Secretary of War (Pete Hegseth). I replied that the person they should truly fear is Donald Trump, who is personally leading what we are doing. He calls me on the phone, sometimes at night and sometimes in the morning, and constantly pushes us to do more.”
Bessent noted that Trump remained in direct contact regarding the economic isolation operation, holding personal conversations with leaders of several countries that, in his description, still “provide lifelines to the Iranian regime.” He added that he had informed them during explicit and highly detailed discussions that Washington would cut off all such links.
Responding to skeptics about the effectiveness of the sanctions, Bessent said, “Sanctions of this magnitude have never been imposed before, and we are taking action every day.”
