King Charles confirms: Harry and Meghan will not undertake any royal duties - Sarmad

King Charles of the United Kingdom sent a message to senior British officials, reiterating that his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan, will remain members of the royal family without any official royal duties upon their return to the country.

The message, which was shared with Harry’s team and issued as guidance for senior government and military officials, stated that after Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back from official royal duties in 2020, “they are no longer working members of the royal family.”

The message added, “There is no change in the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex... The charitable work of the Duke and Duchess is a personal matter that they undertake in their private capacity... In short, their status is akin to that of ordinary citizens who have business and charitable interests.”

Prince Harry returned to Britain with his family late last month, after six years away from royal duties and following their move to the United States.

The couple relocated to the United States in 2020, stepping back from their official royal roles to pursue independent careers, yet they have remained in the news. Harry has accused the royal family of neglect, tabloid newspapers of ruining his life, and the government of failing to provide adequate protection to enable his eventual return to his homeland.
