Lebanese Foreign Minister: Hezbollah dragged the country into two consecutive wars - Sarmad

Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji said on Monday that the region stands on the edge of a fragile balance between de-escalation efforts and the risks of escalation.

Raji’s remarks came during his speech at the 166th regular session of the Arab League Council, held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The Lebanese minister stressed the need to confine weapons to the hands of Lebanon’s legitimate institutions, noting that Hezbollah has dragged his country into two consecutive wars.

He pointed out that Lebanon continues consultations with the United Nations to establish an enhanced international mechanism to accompany the implementation of Resolution 1701, adding that this resolution remains the broader framework for addressing the requirements of the current stage.

Youssef Raji affirmed Lebanon’s rejection of any attempt to impose restrictions on international straits, as well as its rejection of Iranian attacks on Gulf states and Jordan.
