Lavrov: Accusations against Russia in the drone incident in Germany mark the beginning of a real war - Sarmad

(RT) – Russian state news agency TASS quoted Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Sunday as saying that Western accusations linking Moscow to the drone incident at Leipzig Airport in Germany are “in essence, the beginning of a real war.”

Lavrov, referring to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, said, “All these comments made by Merz about making Germany the leading military power in Europe again are being put into practice. He is, in effect, declaring war on us.”

On September 1, the German government concluded that Russia was responsible for a drone attack attempt on Leipzig/Halle Airport last month and ordered a series of retaliatory measures, including the closure of a Russian consulate and cultural center in Berlin.

Russia rejected the German allegations, dismissing them as baseless and accusing Berlin of fabricating evidence to implicate Russia in the incident.
