Kremlin: Putin's talks with Trump's envoys on Ukraine were useful - Sarmad

Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks lasting more than three hours with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as part of efforts to reach an agreement ending the war in Ukraine, describing the discussions as highly useful but not indicating any progress.

Ushakov added that Witkoff and Kushner presented several ideas regarding potential ways to achieve a settlement, without specifying what those ideas were.

He noted that Putin informed them that Russia is making real progress on the battlefield and that he is confident in achieving his country’s objectives, emphasizing the need to address all root causes of the conflict.

Moscow has repeated these statements repeatedly throughout the war, which has now lasted more than four and a half years, while both sides have intensified long-range air strikes in recent weeks, with front lines remaining largely static.
