Syrian Security Arrests Former Assad Regime Officer Accused of 'War Crimes' - Sarmad

The Internal Security Forces in Latakia announced the arrest of Major General Jalal Kamal Saqr, commander of the 18th Infantry Brigade in the Syrian regime forces.

Security officials stated that Jalal Saqr is implicated in war crimes and arbitrary arrests committed against civilians during the years of the revolution.

They added that Jalal Saqr participated in military operations against unarmed civilians in Damascus Governorate and the Eastern Ghouta, and oversaw arbitrary arrest campaigns in Daraa Governorate.
